Used some eco-friendly acid to clean the water line algae around the bottom of the boat because it was baked on so hard. Put some in a spray bottle and used the mist setting and then scrubbed it off with a scrub brush. It came off really easy. Now there’s just a discoloration that I need to buff off. I’m kinda planing on pulling the boat out of the water to repaint the bottom in June. It really needs it.
I got a ride from Spike down to Miami Beach because I have a developers conference coming up in February down in Coral Gables and needed to refill my bus pass card so I can take unlimited buses and trains for $5 a day instead of paying $2 for each bus. The liquor store on 71st & Collins is a Metro-Dade transit reseller.
Stopped at Dollar Paradise and got another pair of imitation Crocs shoes for $5.
Went to McDonalds for lunch and had 2 $1 menu McDoubles with extra onions.
Walked up to DollarStarand got a can of candied yams for $.29c and box of Little Debbie’s tulip cakes for $.49c
Took the H bus back home.
Went to the DollarTree store and they had X-mas candy on clearance 4/$1. Got a box of cherry candy canes and bag of chocolate covered caramel bells, kinda like “Rolos” candies. Very yummy.
I survived the cold front last night. Luckily the wind wasn’t as predicted and it only got down to the upper 30′s between 4 and 5am.
Once the sun came up it warmed up pretty quick. I did a beer run but when I came back the sky looked pretty nasty to the east. At least I have antifreeze for tonite :)
A cold front came through last nite and it got down to the low 40′s. Tonite will be in the 30′s with a freeze warning. I made sure all the hatches are shut tight and any drafts plugged up with towels today. It gets too cold to sleep up in the v-birth so I use one of the couches in the cabin as my winter bed.
