Derelict diverted.

Was just leaving the boat to goto the store and a small boat FL0279NY was pulling a sailboat with its mast down into the back back. Called up the park manager and let him know that if he wanted to intercept another derelict boat being anchored in the back mangrove channel he should go over there. By the time I got there the guy was untieing the sailboat from the small boat that towed it and was about to drop anchor. I told him that it would be cheaper to pay dock rental than to anchor it illegally here. The assistant park manager showed up and told the guy he couldn’t anchor here. We suggested he go upto Mole Lake.

I continued going ashore and then stopped by the park office. I said I bet that he goes out into the bay and ties up to my anchor buoy.

Got to the store and while I was in the checkout line I was alerted that the guy was trying to anchor right next to my anchor buoy . I called up John from the M/V Gabrielle to get him away. Got back to the boat and the guy was gone. Went over and thanked John. Crisis diverted.
