A massive sewage spill has spread throughout the waters of Biscayne Bay, Oleta River State Park and the beaches of Haulover Park and Bal Harbour and swimmers are warned against bathing in these areas, Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department said in a statement. Officials issued the public advisory after a 72-inch sewer break on Northwest 18th Avenue and 157th Street sometime late Friday and caused the release of approximately 20 million gallons of sewage. The flow of sewage stopped by 7 a.m. Saturday, officials said. Leave a Comment |
